Baby Vulpix Sculpture by caffwin Baby Vulpix Sculpture by caffwin
Vulpix sculpture, made from Sculpey III clay and wire for support. She stands 3" tall. :)

She is supposed to be a little more chibi-looking rather than proportionate and realistic; I had a lot of fun making her tails. <3

I do think she turned out a bit dark, though. Maybe it sort of works that she's a baby? haha
I'll definitely have to make a lighter-version of this sometime. ^^

I genuinely like the sculpture. It was very nicely done. There are only a few minor tweaks that I would make myself had I done it. Not that everything a person makes is perfect in any way shape or form, but you should make sure that the ear and the inside of the ear are proportionate to one another. Other than making sure that the proportions to your pieces match one another, I don't see too much else really wrong with it. It is very pretty and the way you did the hair was exceptionally beautiful. Overall, a job well done. I would consider paying to have it sit on my dresser.

D: It can't be a baby vulpix because of all the tails.

:P Just call it a chibi Vulpix.

Aww! Thanks.
Yeah I should probably go to an artist's alley sometime.. but it's very unlike me just sitting there when I could be enjoying the rest of the con LOL.

OMG! cutest thing evar!! thats sooo adorable OwO

But could you tell me something, i like to make things like this too, so how do you get the pieces to stick together with out smudging them all together, do you some kind of glue or pin it? I'd really love to know, cause i can never get mine to look so clean >.<

Thank you! XD

I actually bake things in parts; it's a pretty lengthy process but it gets me the results I want. Once you've already baked a piece and it's hardened, you can stick it anywhere without it smudging!
You can also use wire to attach things, that definitely helps for stability and in keeping things separate.
But every artist does it differently though, so there could be an easier way that works better for what you are looking for. :)

It takes a little while to smooth everything out.. the toughest part is to not be clumsy enough to add more fingerprints while trying to eliminate the ones that are already there; but you get the hang of it after you work with the medium for a while. :)
