Shiny Eeveelution Repaints by caffwin Shiny Eeveelution Repaints by caffwin
A lot of satisfaction from seeing all of these guys together. ^_^
This has been one of my more delightful [unfinished] projects.
I can't wait to get the rest of them. :D

I don't remember, unfortunately, it was a few years ago and every color I used was a combination of various colors, so it was kind of just what my intuition told me to do. XD
Sorry I can't be more help.

you should do a shiny umbreon! the only difference is the ring markings and the eyes!

this is what i mean![link]

I was actually going to do that one next! But then I stopped doing repaints altogether.. XD
It would be a good idea for the future though, if I want a smaller painting project. ^_^

Fan made sculptures/figurines never fail to be better than the ones made in companies and stuff o_o

This is really very awesome. Favourite has to be Flareon. :)

Thanks very much! <3

Unfortunately they take waaaay longer to make and paint since they're not mass produced; I always thought OOAK things had their own charm though, even if they are just repaints. ^^

What brand are the figures? I have a Vaporeon that looks like that. Tomy produced that, but i don't believe i've seen Eevee, Flareon and Jolteon in those poses

These are TOMYs. :)
There are TOMY versions of all the Eeveelutions, actually! Some rarer than others. I wanted to do Umbreon/Espeon but probably not Glaceon/Leafeon since their shiny version colours are way too similar to the original.

You repainted these?! The paint looks so smooth! I've seen some awful repaints before and it made me nervous about repainting my (unfortunately bootlegged) Tomy's. >_>

But you give me hope! What kind of paint do you use? Any tips+tricks?

I'd eternally grateful for your advice. <3

I did, and thank you very much!

Repaints are hard to do because you need a lot of patience and precision.. I'm not sure what I did but I spent about 6-10 hours on each LOL. I suggest going slow and painting simpler ones and working your way up to ones with more detail.. you have to be really dedicated to do repaints, that's my opinion haha.
As for paint, there is nothing specially really, I use acrylics and a gloss to seal them.
Hope that helps! :)

Awesome! If it's a matter of patience and precision, I have hope. That's my usual approach to artwork and my fingers usually co-operate.

I bet the gloss makes a big difference. Is that painted on or sprayed?

Thanks for your help! <3

I think the technical aspects of art is mostly about the precision and patience; if you have enough of both, you will be proficient with time. :)

And the gloss is painted on. ^_^

You are very welcome!

I'd say thanks, but NUUUUUUU! These are repaints of figures. XD

I'm not sure if the title is misleading or.. if I didn't specify, I'm sorry! LOL

Seems like I've been unintentionally fooling a lot of people with this one..

Thank you! :)

Flareon's colours were the toughest to mix; I had to repaint him 3 times before I got the colour just right haha.

I've never had a problem with the tails of my Tomys falling off, but I've heard that some of them do tend to come off. O_O
